The 4th in Honduras

Days 45-48

Saturday here was a pretty slow due to everyone except me getting sick so while everyone spent the day in bed/sitting around I spent the day twiddling my thumbs waiting for everyone to feel better. πŸ˜‰

Sunday everyone was tired out from being sick but somewhat feeling better so after breakfast and a sermon Nikki, Casey, and I headed to Sigua Coffee for a couple hours just to get out of the house and treat ourselves to coffee/tea and dessert! πŸ˜‰

Once we got back to the house we threw the frisbee around for a little while then Nik started in on super while Casey and I kept her company waiting for the yummy smells of corn and chicken to be ready for us to shove on a wrap and devour! πŸ˜‰

After dinner we decided to sit down and watch Unbroken since Tara had just finished reading the book but half way through Nikki and I decided to “head to bed” which really turned into us just talking about random things until we drifted off to sleep. πŸ™‚

Our weekend compared to our Monday and Tuesday…. totally opposites! πŸ˜‰

Monday we had Tara and Jorge’s kids plus little Rosie who we picked back up for a couple days still in the hopes that her Mama has that baby! πŸ™‚ So figured crossed or hands clasped? Whatever! Our prayers are with her for a fast delivery after this long labor!

After we picked up Rosie we headed to the grocery store to get food for the Fourth of July party we would be going to the next day and for personal snacks! πŸ˜‰ From there we went back to the house where we spent the evening, “relaxing” for any Mama or baby sitter out there you know having four kids to watch over just tires you out even if your “relaxing.” πŸ˜‰

Once the “relaxing” part of the evening was done it was time for bed… for the kids anyways! πŸ˜‰ It takes about an hour to actually put the kids to sleep so after they went down down we were all really tired so we ate pie, watched a movie, then went to bed! πŸ˜‰

Tuesday morning Nikki and I headed to Life and Liberty which I’ve been calling love and freedom orphanage because it’s had different names at different times so yeah been calling it the wrong name this whole time! πŸ˜‰ Super embarrassing but that’s my life! πŸ˜‰

When we got to the orphanage we were greeted by the younger ones jumping into the back of the truck and chanting my name! Seriously sweetest thing ever! Really blessed my heart!

After the orphanage Nikki and I went back to the house to rest up for the Fourth of July party. Once we got ourselves rested up got ready and headed out with all the kids in toe! πŸ™‚

The party was great we ate lots of yummy food, played games, and enjoyed good conversation plus fireworks at the end of it all! πŸ™‚ Oh, and I did and ice cream eating contest with Lauren (A girl we know from bible study) neither of us won but we had fun trying! πŸ™‚

On the way home Joseph and I were in the back of the truck getting rained and singing when Nikki slammed on her breaks because of a couple guys walking in the middle of the road wearing black… like why? Anyway, Joseph went flying into the back of the truck while I let out an embarrassingly loud girlish scream! Joseph and I just looked at each other and started laughing so hard that tears started running down our faces! When I finally asked him if he was okay he responded with, “Yeah, but now my pants are wet.” πŸ˜‰

After the adventurous car ride we put the kids to bed then enjoyed the quiet of the house until we ourselves went to bed. πŸ™‚
